Spring is coming, but the lotus on the pond still speak of winter.
Visited the National Art Museum in Ueno, on the way home I passed a plum tree and got inspired
Cut a new bamboo
Japanese painters often sign thier paintings with a stamp. It is not a surprise. Japanese sign business documents with a stamp as well. I like it. It adds to the painting and seens less rough than scrawling my name.. A name can look like graffiti. I’m not the only one. James Whistler, an artist I admire, often signed his work with a butterfly like a Japanese stamp.
Lately I have use my familt crest, though I make a lot of stamps.
Walls are empty, Time for me to start painting again. I wonder what the new painting year will bring?
